Dominant vs. Recessive Phenotype

Dominant phenotype is produced by just one dominant allele, which is a copy of a gene, even if the other allele is recessive. But for recessive phenotype to be produced, there must be two recessive alleles from both parents. The red flowers are the dominant phenotype, but the light pink flowers were produced because the dominant allele red could not wholly dominate the recessive allele white. Completely white flowers would be the recessive phenotype.
