C3 Plant

The potato in the picture represents a C3 plant. A C3 plant uses C3 carbon fixation to convert inorganic compounds to organic ones in photosynthesis. C3 carbon fixation involves converting CO2 to 3-phosphogylycerate, which is an organic compound that contains three carbon atoms. A potato plant is an example of a C3 plant.
